The research of the more than 20 research groups at the Department of Chemistry spans a wide range of issues in chemistry.

It is precisely this diversity that allows the department to address research in its two focus areas comprehensively and from different perspectives simultaneously.

In coordinated research projects, researchers pool their expertise to work on complex issues in an interdisciplinary manner. Close collaboration creates synergistic effects that open up new perspectives and promote groundbreaking findings. These projects drive innovation and strengthen the exchange between basic research and applied science.

Cooperation between researchers is also increasingly being supported in research funding. In addition to the instruments of the German Research Foundation (DFG), other funding bodies also support such joint efforts.

More than 20 research groups contribute in very different ways to the joint success of the Department of Chemistry in research and teaching. Here you will find the heads of the groups as well as further information on their respective focal points, contact options and links to the respective homepages.
